Werribee Mercy Hospital is excited to launch a new Midwifery Group Practice (MGP) and we're looking for enthusiastic midwives to join our team.

Are you a passionate and dedicated midwife committed to providing woman and birthing person-centered care? Do you value building trusting relationships and supporting people throughout their entire maternity journey? This is a unique opportunity to be part of a newly established Midwifery Group Practice, designed to deliver continuity of care and support optimal outcomes and experiences for families.

You will play a key role in shaping and embedding this new model of care at Werribee Mercy Hospital. You will contribute to creating a positive, empowering experience while strengthening continuity, connection, and trust, hallmarks of the MGP philosophy.

About the Role

As part of our Midwifery Group Practice, you will work collaboratively within a small, supportive team to provide continuity of care to women throughout their pregnancy, birth, and postnatal journey. Working on call, you will have the opportunity to practice with autonomy while being supported by a collaborative, multidisciplinary team that values respect, compassion, and high-quality maternity care.

This is a unique opportunity to build meaningful relationships with families by practicing across the full scope of midwifery care in a flexible, autonomous model.

About You

We are seeking midwives who are:

- Passionate about woman and birthing person-centered care

- Experienced in providing comprehensive, evidence-based care throughout the antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal continuum

- Solid communicators with a collaborative mindset

- Proven ability to prioritise workload and manage time efficiently in a dynamic environment

- Committed to safe, respectful,



and culturally responsive care

- Experience in caseload midwifery or MGP is highly regarded however not essential.

- Registered Midwife with AHPRA

- Hold a full driver's license

- Minimum 2 years as a Registered Midwife of experience

- Level 3 FSEP

- Advanced midwifery skill set including perineal suturing, IV cannulation, newborn discharge check, domiciliary care. Endorsed midwives are encouraged to apply.

You will also be required to provide evidence of, or in the process of obtaining:

- A current Police Record Check and Working with Children Check.

- Proof of current influenza vaccination and other vaccination status consistent with public health orders.
