As a Roteq Mechanical Technician Fitter, you will be responsible for repairing, replacing and upgrading equipment and parts. You will be reporting to the Mechanical Technician Leading Hand.
Key responsibilities
- Providing in-field service/repair/diagnosis on equipment
- Build, fix, commission and upgrade high-speed rotating equipment
- Manage, maintain, check and test production machinery before actual production run
- Design, weld and mount relevant brackets or mechanical structures that will accommodate various production runs and increase productivity or reduce breakdowns
- Checking fabricated and assembled metal parts for accuracy, clearance and fit using precision measuring instruments
- Fitting fabricated metal parts into products and assembling metal parts and subassemblies to produce machines and equipment in the field of turbomachinery
- Cutting, threading,
bending and installing hydraulic and pneumatic pipes and lines to turbo-machinery control equipment
- Erecting machines and equipment on site
- Diagnosing faults and performing operational maintenance of machines and overhauling and repairing mechanical parts
About you
- Hold a valid Mechanical Fitter Trade Qualification
- Construction white card
- Must hold a current working at heights and confined space ticket
- Must hold dogging and basic rigging ticket
- Ideally hold an elevated work platform ticket
- Ability to work efficiently and to deadlines including in after-hours/weekend and shift rosters as required
- Commitment to workplace safety, quality, punctuality, reliability, respect of others
- Be able to identify, analyse and solve problems
- Be able to work as part of a team
- Mobile and willing to spend time away from office/home as and when operation requires
