About us
We're on a mission to create a brighter future, where you can be a change maker at the actual source. We're one of Australia's largest water utilities with over 30% of Victoria's population relying on us for their essential water and sanitation services. We're future focused and continually work to anticipate the changing needs of our customers and stay ahead of evolving community expectations. We're shifting to a regenerative approach in our work to actively contribute to improving the natural environment we all rely on.
Yarra Valley Water own and operate two industry leading food waste to energy facilities as part of their commitment to Net Zero. The facilities are the first of their kind for the water sector in Australia and leading the charge on the growing Australian Bioenergy industry.
Our award-winning culture fosters an inclusive, collaborative, and adaptable environment that enables our people to thrive. Here, you'll be inspired and challenged to grow alongside us.
We're committed to reconciliation and supporting the self-determined role for Traditional Owners/Custodians in water and land management.
The Role
As a Waste to Energy Commercial Account Manager, you'll play a key role in supporting customer relationships, commercial growth and revenue generation across our two Waste to Energy facilities. You'll manage customer accounts, identify business development opportunities and support financial and administrative activities, while working collaboratively across the team and broader YVW organisation.
Your key responsibilities
- Support commercial strategy and revenue growth across YVW's waste-to-energy facilities, including pricing, sales pipelines, market opportunities, customer engagement, grant funding and commercialisation of digestate and other revenue streams.
- Manage customer and account relationships, across phone, email, face-to-face and site-based interactions, including billing, service changes, contamination, debt management, customer reporting, site visits and general ongoing engagement.
- Build strong relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders, promoting awareness of waste-to-energy activities, requirements and opportunities across YVW.
- Provide data and technical support across waste-to-energy operations, including analysis and reporting of feedstocks, waste tonnages, power production, biogas, digestate and environmental data.
- Support business administration and reporting, including procurement, contract management, financial and revenue reporting, customer communications, newsletters and administration of non-waste revenue streams such as LGCs, power and ACCUs.
What we're looking for
- Customer-focused and commercially minded, with demonstrated experience in customer service, account management and/or business development, and the ability to negotiate and manage commercial relationships.
- Analytical and technically capable, with experience interpreting data, identifying trends and preparing clear reports
- Highly organised and self-motivated, with strong time management skills and the ability to work autonomously, prioritise competing demands and adapt to changing customer and business needs.
- Resilient and adaptable, with a collaborative approach, strong problem-solving skills and the ability to operate effectively across office, facility and external stakeholder environments.
- Relevant qualifications and experience, with a Bachelor of Science (Environmental or similar) highly desirable.
- Valid Victorian drivers licence, mandatory.
