About the Role:

Hort Enterprises is seeking an experienced, high-level Business Systems Specialist to oversee our core IT operations, database administration, and systems integration. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for advising internal and external users, maintaining business-critical applications, and ensuring our digital infrastructure remains secure, efficient, and aligned with company goals.

You will combine hands-on technical management—covering on-premise hardware, networks, databases, and internal software—with strategic leadership, ensuring our technology drives operational performance across all departments.

Key Responsibilities:

- Systems & Security Administration: Monitor on-premise hardware, firewalls, backups, storage, disaster recovery plans, and security controls to ensure data accuracy and compliance.

- User & Infrastructure Support: Provide end-to-end support for software/hardware procurement, usage, systems integration, and technical troubleshooting without disrupting business operations.

- Continuous Improvement & Quality: Oversee software updates, patches, and in-house application maintenance; report on Quality Management System performance to executive leadership.

- Training & Documentation: Compile technical manuals and deliver hands-on training to end users, fostering a tech-enabled workplace.

- Strategic Alignment & Leadership:



Guide cross-departmental technology initiatives, align IT plans with business objectives, and manage key vendor and client relationships effectively.

What We Are Looking For:

- Education & Experience: Relevant qualifications and experience in Computer Science/IT or a minimum of 2-5 years of broad IT/systems experience.

- Technical Expertise: At least 2-5 years of direct experience managing business systems applications, security, servers, databases, networks, and backups.

- Problem-Solving Skills: Solid analytical ability to diagnose complex root causes and implement lasting system improvements.

- Leadership & Communication: Exceptional interpersonal skills with a proven track record of managing change, presenting ideas to management, and supporting end users.

- Standards & Compliance: Familiarity with Quality Management Systems, safety protocols, and environmental best practices within an operational business environment.
