Position Summary:
The Site Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and management of the construction site. This role ensures that all construction activities are carried out efficiently, safely, and in accordance with project plans and specifications. The Site Manager coordinates with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:
- Site Supervision & Coordination:
- Oversee daily operations on the construction site, including managing construction workers, subcontractors, and site activities.
- Ensure that work is performed according to project plans, specifications, and quality standards.
- Coordinate and schedule site activities to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of tasks.
- Safety & Compliance:
- Implement and enforce safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety legislation.
- Address and resolve any safety issues or hazards promptly to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Quality Control:
- Monitor construction quality to ensure adherence to project specifications, building codes, and industry standards.
- Conduct regular site inspections and quality checks, addressing any deficiencies or issues as they arise.
- Collaborate with project managers and design teams to resolve any design or construction-related issues.
- Communication & Reporting:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for site-related issues and communicate effectively with project managers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
- Provide regular updates on site progress, including any issues, delays, or changes to the project schedule.
- Prepare and maintain accurate site documentation, including daily reports, incident reports, and progress reports.
- Resource Management:
- Manage and oversee the use of construction materials, equipment, and resources on-site.
- Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment.
- Monitor site productivity and address any resource shortages or equipment malfunctions.
- Problem-Solving:
- Identify and resolve on-site problems, including construction delays, equipment issues, and personnel conflicts.
- Implement solutions to address any issues that may impact project timelines or quality.
- Team Leadership:
- Supervise and provide guidance to site staff, including construction workers, subcontractors, and other site personnel.
- Promote a collaborative and efficient work setting, encouraging teamwork and productivity.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Certificate IV Building & Construction or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience:
- Proven experience as a Site Manager or similar role in the commercial construction industry, with a minimum of 5 years of site management experience.
- Demonstrated experience in managing scale commercial construction projects (preferably in the Education sector).
- Minimum experience managing commercial construction projects valued between $1-5M is required.
- Skills & Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, safety regulations, and building codes.
- Proficiency in construction management software and tools.
- Specific proficiency in Procore construction management software is essential.
- Excellent organisational, leadership, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Certifications:
- Relevant certifications such as OSHA Safety Certification, First Aid/CPR, or other industry-specific credentials are preferred.
- Australian work authorisation is required for this position.
Work Conditions:
- May require working on-site in varying weather conditions.
- Some evening or weekend work may be required to meet project deadlines.
- Travel to different construction sites may be necessary.
