2027 Graduate OT Pathway | AHA to Graduate OT

Location

Brisbane East | Clinic + Community

Salary

$80K + Super | Part-Time AHA Role Progressing to Full-Time OT

Ready to launch your career with genuine support from day one?

This is a unique opportunity for final-year OT students to join a growing paediatric service as a part-time Allied Health Assistant before transitioning into a full-time Graduate Occupational Therapist role once registered.

Rather than waiting until graduation to start building your clinical experience, you’ll have the opportunity to become familiar with the team, systems, clients and clinical environment early.

This prospect is also open to final-year OT students who prefer to focus on their studies and placements, but would like to register their interest and potentially secure an OT role prior to graduation.

About

Join a growing, clinician-led allied health service with a strong paediatric focus and an established multidisciplinary team. The service is expanding its OT offering and offers the opportunity to contribute to the development of a growing therapy department.

The organisation values practical, hands-on therapy, collaboration and clinician wellbeing. It is an ideal environment for someone who wants to develop confidence while being closely supported by experienced clinicians.

The Role

You’ll initially work part-time as an Allied Health Assistant,

supporting therapy sessions and gaining practical experience under the direction and supervision of qualified clinicians.

Once registered, you’ll transition into a full-time Graduate Occupational Therapist role, working primarily with paediatric clients presenting with ASD, ADHD and global developmental delay.

The role is approximately 70% clinic-based and 30% community-based, providing more opportunities for face-to-face support, observation, collaboration and supervision. You may work across clinics, homes and educational settings while delivering practical, play-based therapy.

Over time, there may also be opportunities to broaden your experience into adult services as the organisation continues to grow.

Team Culture

You’ll join a large multidisciplinary team comprising of speech pathologist and occupational therapists.

This is a collaborative and close-knit environment where questions are encouraged, feedback is constructive and graduate clinicians are not expected to work things out alone. You’ll receive guidance from experienced OTs and work alongside a broader team of allied health professionals.

What Makes This Role Stand Out

- Start part-time as an Allied Health Assistant and transition into a full-time grad OT role once registered.

- Approximately 70% clinic-based work for stronger face-to-face supervision.

- Strong clinical leadership and regular day-to-day guidance.

- Potential to expand into adult services over time.

- Clear salary progression
