About the Role

We are seeking an experienced, collaborative and organized Library Manager & Teacher to lead the effective operation and continued development of the College's library services across both the Tarneit and Mambourin Campuses.

The Library Manager and Teacher will provide a welcoming, inclusive and engaging environment that supports reading, research, teaching and learning across the College. The successful candidate that will oversee library operations, resources, systems, staff and programs while working closely with teaching staff and College leaders to ensure library services support curriculum delivery and the learning needs of students.

Key responsibilities:

- Leading the day-to-day operation and development of the College's library services
- Managing library staff, budgets, resources and systems
- Maintaining welcoming and engaging library spaces for students and staff
- Overseeing the selection, purchasing, cataloguing and organization of print and digital resources




- Collaborating with teaching staff to support curriculum delivery and student learning
- Promoting reading, literacy, research skills and responsible use of information.
- Coordinating library programs and events, including Book Week and Book Club
- Supporting the Christian ethos and values of the College

Selection Criteria

The successful candidate will have:

- Current VIT registration
- Relevant qualifications in library and information services or a related field
- Experience managing or coordinating a school, educational or community library
- Experience using library-management systems; knowledge of SCIS and Access-it is desirable
- Strong leadership, organizational and time-management skills
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- The ability to work collaboratively, independently and manage competing priorities
- A commitment to literacy, student learning and the Christian ethos of the College

Special requirements:

The successful applicant will be required to complete relevant background, regulatory and professional reference checks.

Its estimated population by 2021 is expected to exceed 245,000, with 384,000 anticipated by 2036.
