About the role:
The Library Learning Services Specialist is responsible for delivering high-quality services to students, staff, and stakeholders through both face-to-face and digital channels. Working as part of a team of Library Learning Specialists and collaborating with staff from other Library and University units, this role is integral to providing a high level of service to all clients.
Reporting to the Library Learning Services Team Coordinator, the Library Learning Services Specialist does not have any direct reports. Key responsibilities include offering consistent and reliable information about Library and University services. The successful person will be the first point of contact for students and external clients coming to our libraries, either on the phone, in person and online,
providing accurate and timely referrals to other units within the Library or University in response to the inquiries.
This role is 5 days a week on campus and works on a roster – from 9am to 6pm during the week, with occasional weekend and evening shifts. Due to the nature of the role, no work from home is available. Both roles are parental leave cover – approved until July 2027 and August 2027.
Who You Are:
You are a great communicator, who enjoys delivering amazing customer service experiences. You are passionate about library services and thinking of growing your career in the space or more broadly in the higher education sector. In addition, we are looking for people who come with:
A completed TAFE Library and Information Services qualification (we will also consider candidates who are in the process of completing it)
Demonstrated experience providing of high quality, consistent and effective client services
Demonstrated interpersonal and professional skills, including the ability to engage positively and maturely with clients
An understanding of and commitment to UNSW’s aims, objectives and values in action
Candidates need to have full‑time ongoing working rights for the role – no sponsorship are available.
You may see this role advertised in other states for the purpose of expanding the candidate talent pool however these positions are based in Sydney Campuses (5 days a week onsite).
