Accountant | Not-for-Profit | $100k + Super

We are partnering with a well-established organisation in the not-for-profit sector to recruit an experienced Accountant to join its finance team.

Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, this is a broad, hands-on accounting role suited to someone who enjoys taking ownership of their work and can be relied upon to keep things moving during busy reporting periods.

You’ll work closely with the FC across month-end, financial reporting, reconciliations and general accounting activities, while also becoming a trusted point of support across the broader finance function.

The Role

Your responsibilities will include:

- Supporting the Financial Controller with month-end and year-end reporting
- Preparing balance sheet reconciliations and maintaining the general ledger
- Preparing journals, accruals and prepayments
- Assisting with management and financial reporting
- Supporting budgeting and forecasting activities
- Reviewing financial information and investigating variances
- Assisting with audit requirements and statutory reporting
- Supporting cash flow and broader finance activities where required
- Ensuring accounting processes, controls and reporting deadlines are maintained
- Providing additional support to the FC during periods of increased workload or leave
- Identifying opportunities to improve existing finance processes

About You

We’re looking for someone who is technically capable,



dependable and comfortable operating with a reasonable level of autonomy.

Ideally, you will have:

- Previous experience in a broad Accountant or Senior Accountant position
- Strong month-end and financial accounting experience
- Excellent balance sheet reconciliation and general ledger skills
- Confidence working directly with a Financial Controller or senior finance leader
- The ability to manage competing deadlines and remain calm during busy periods
- Strong attention to detail
- Good communication skills and a collaborative working style
- CA/CPA qualification or progress toward qualification will be highly regarded
- Previous not-for-profit experience is advantageous but not essential

Most importantly, you’ll be someone the Financial Controller can trust to take ownership, work through problems and help keep the finance function running effectively when things get busy.
