The Opportunity
To support our continued growth, we are seeking an experienced and dynamic Civil Supervisor to oversee and coordinate civil works based in our Weipa Branch. This role suits a proactive professional who thrives in remote project environments and is committed to delivering work safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise and coordinate civil construction crews (up to 10 personnel)

Oversee daily site operations including earthworks, concrete works, drainage, and associated civil infrastructure

Ensure all works are completed safely and in accordance with Australian Standards, site specifications, and project requirements

Support with Project Managers and Department Managers to meet budgets and timelines

Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to maintain workflow and productivity

Source and negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors where required

Conduct toolbox talks, JSAs, risk assessments, and pre-start meetings





Monitor quality control and ensure compliance with safety and environmental requirements

Read and interpret plans, drawings, and specifications

Identify potential issues early and implement practical solutions to prevent delays

About You

Proven experience supervising civil construction projects, ideally within mining or industrial environments

Strong understanding of civil works including bulk earthworks, concrete, drainage, and infrastructure projects

Ability to manage and motivate a multi-disciplinary workforce

Demonstrated leadership skills with a hands‑on approach

High level of planning, time management, and organisational skills

Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise confidently with clients, management, and crews

Competent in Microsoft Office (Excel, Project, etc.)

High attention to detail and commitment to safe work practices

Requirements

Manual Driver’s Licence (no restrictions)

G1,8,9 & G2 Supervision Certificate (or equivalent)

RII tickets incl - Excavator | Skid Steer | Forklift tickets

Current Provide First Aid & CPR Certificate

Construction Induction (White Card)

High Risk Work Licence (WP highly regarded)

Ability to pass a pre‑employment medical and ongoing drug & alcohol testing

Ability to obtain a National Police Clearance

High Risk Work Licence (WP and/or LF)

HR licence

Confined Spaces (renewed every 3 years)
