The Company

An established and highly regarded large food manufacturer based inMelbourneWestern Suburbs. The site operates a high standard production environment with advanced automated machinery, PLC-controlled systems, and strict food safety standards. The maintenance team plays a critical role in ensuring electrical reliability, minimising downtime, and maintaining the safe and efficient operation of plant equipment as the business continues to grow and optimise performance.

The Position

Seeking an experienced Maintenance Electrician to work day shift ONLY, providing hands-on electrical maintenance support across production, packaging, and site services.

This is a full time permanent position and purely Day Shift - 4 Days on, 4 days off. This would suit someone looking for work-life balance

- Responding to electrical breakdowns to minimise production downtime
- Completing scheduled preventive electrical maintenance in line with CMMS plans
- Fault finding and troubleshooting across PLCs, motors, drives, sensors, and control systems
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and small projects




- Working collaboratively with production, mechanical, and maintenance teams
- Completing all maintenance documentation accurately in the CMMS
- Maintaining compliance with GMP, food safety, quality, and HSE requirements

Skills and Experience

Essential:

- Trade qualification as a Licensed A-Grade Electrician
- Proven maintenance experience in FMCG, food manufacturing, or similar high-speed production environments
- Strong electrical fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently
- Experience using CMMS systems such as SAP, MEX, Pronto, or similar
- Sound understanding of GMP, HACCP, and food safety requirements

Desirable

- Experience with automated production lines, packaging equipment, VSDs, motors, and instrumentation
- Exposure to continuous improvement, Lean, or reliability practices
- Forklift licence, Working at Heights, or Confined Space certification
