Us Heritage Food Services operates a restaurant and hospitality venue in Ipswich, Queensland 4305. The business provides a welcoming dining environment offering a range of quality meals and hospitality services. The Opportunity We are seeking an experienced and motivated Chef to join our kitchen team on a full-time basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for food preparation, cooking, menu planning and maintaining kitchen standards.
This role is suited to a culinary professional who can work efficiently while maintaining consistent food quality, presentation and service standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and develop menus while estimating ingredient quantities and monitoring food and labour costs.
- Maintain consistent standards of food preparation, cooking quality and presentation across all dishes.
- Coordinate with management, kitchen personnel and front-of-house staff to meet daily food service requirements.
- Provide direction to kitchen team members and demonstrate appropriate cooking and food preparation methods.
- Prepare, cook and present a variety of dishes according to recipes and established quality standards.
- Ensure all kitchen activities comply with applicable food hygiene, safety and sanitation requirements.
- Support the recruitment, induction and training of kitchen staff when required.
- Ensure food products are correctly stored, preserved and frozen to maintain freshness and reduce wastage.
- Monitor day-to-day kitchen activities and organise workflow to support efficient and timely meal service.
Qualifications & Experience
- AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma in Culinary Arts or a related field.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a commercial kitchen or food service environment.
- Sound understanding of food safety requirements and commercial kitchen procedures.
- Strong communication, teamwork, leadership and time-management skills.
- Demonstrated passion for cooking and commitment to maintaining food quality standards.
- Ability to work effectively in a busy kitchen environment.
