About the role

Be part of the Digital Coordination Centre (DCC) and play a key role in keeping patients moving safely and efficiently across The Royal Melbourne Hospital. As Transport Coordinator, you will coordinate non-emergency patient transport (NEPT) and rideshare services, working closely with clinical and support teams and external transport providers to overcome barriers, manage bookings and ensure patients can access the care they need.

This is a hands-on coordination role with real scope to make a difference. You will use your organisational and problem-solving skills to manage transport demand, monitor service performance and identify opportunities to improve processes, resources and patient flow. You will also contribute to staff education, data and reporting, provider relationships and broader DCC initiatives, making this an opportunity to influence how transport services support the patient experience across RMH.

Key Accountabilities

- Co-ordinate NEPT and rideshare bookings, vehicles, ETAs and changes.
- Support patient flow by resolving transport barriers across RMH services.
- Liaise with external transport providers and manage escalations.
- Monitor transport data, costs and utilisation to optimise resources.
- Identify and implement improvements to transport processes and service delivery.
- Provide DCC administration, reporting, staff support and service improvement.

About You

You are an organised and solutions-focused coordinator who can manage competing priorities,



communicate confidently and provide compassionate customer service. You will also have:

- Strong organisational skills, initiative and a practical approach to problem solving.
- Solid administration and computer skills, with confidence using booking and information systems.
- Clear and effective communication skills, with the ability to build relationships across internal and external stakeholders.
- Customer service experience and a genuine commitment to supporting patients, staff, visitors and contractors with care and respect.
