Latrobe Regional Health is looking for Regional Cancer Project Lead to join our growing team on a part time (0.8EFT) fixed term until 30 June 2027.

The Project Lead – ICONIC is responsible for leading the implementation of innovative, navigator ‑ supported cancer care models across Gippsland, including the Rapid Cancer Diagnosis Service (RCDS) and Transitions of Care Service (TOCS). Working across regional, metropolitan and community health sectors, the role drives project delivery, stakeholder engagement, governance, evaluation and change management initiatives aimed at improving cancer outcomes and reducing inequities in care.

This position plays a pivotal role in strengthening care coordination, improving access to timely diagnosis, supporting patient navigation and ensuring more Gippsland patients can access high ‑ quality cancer care closer to home.

The role of the Regional Cancer Project Lead is to:

- Lead the implementation and evaluation of the ICONIC Project, including the Rapid Cancer Diagnosis Service (RCDS) and Transitions of Care Service (TOCS), ensuring delivery against project objectives and timelines.
- Coordinate the development and implementation of navigator ‑ supported models of care that improve timely diagnosis, care coordination, patient experience and equity of access.
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with regional and metropolitan health services, primary care providers, community organisations, consumers and First Nations stakeholders.
- Lead governance, reporting, risk management, stakeholder engagement and co ‑ design activities to support sustainable service development and implementation.




- Coordinate evaluation, research and consumer engagement activities, including PROMs, PREMs, focus groups and community consultation initiatives.
- Develop and support communication, education and change management strategies that promote adoption and long ‑ term sustainability of cancer service improvements.

About you

Ideal candidates for this role will have:

- A tertiary qualification in a healthcare discipline or related field, with demonstrated project management experience.
- Strong knowledge of healthcare systems, quality improvement methodologies and clinical risk management principles.
- Experience leading complex projects involving multiple stakeholders, governance structures and competing priorities.
- Well ‑ developed analytical and reporting skills, including the ability to utilise healthcare data to monitor performance and evaluate outcomes.
- An understanding of the Victorian healthcare system and a commitment to improving equity, patient experience and outcomes across regional communities.
- Experience within the cancer sector or with organisations such as Cancer Council Victoria, and familiarity with the Victorian Cancer Plan and contemporary cancer care models (desirable).
