An exciting opportunity has become available for a full time Funeral Conductor to join our dedicated team. This rewarding and varied role is primarily focused on conducting funeral services and supporting families, while also assisting with stonemasonry and memorial duties as required.

No previous funeral industry experience is required as we will provide full training to the right person.

About the Role

As a Funeral Conductor, you will play an important role in supporting Funeral Directors and ensuring funeral services are delivered with dignity, professionalism and compassion. In addition, you will assist with memorial and stonemasonry duties to support our families and local community.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Conducting and assisting with funeral services.
- Supporting Funeral Directors during funeral arrangements and services.
- Greeting and assisting client families and funeral attendees with professionalism, empathy and respect.
- Driving and maintaining hearses and company vehicles.
- Assisting with transfers of the deceased into our care.
- Preparing chapels and funeral venues for services.
- Loading and unloading coffins safely and respectfully.
- Assisting with the installation, maintenance and cleaning of monuments and memorials.
- Providing general assistance with stonemasonry and cemetery-related duties as required.




- Assisting with the maintenance and presentation of the funeral home, workshop and grounds.
- Participating in the after-hours on-call roster.

About You

To be successful in this role you will:

- Be physically fit and comfortable undertaking manual handling and outdoor work.
- Have a strong work ethic and positive attitude.
- Be reliable, honest and well presented.
- Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Be able to work independently and as part of a close-knit team.
- Hold a current unrestricted driver’s licence.
- Be comfortable working in a funeral environment.
- Experience within the funeral industry is highly regarded but not essential. Likewise, experience in stonemasonry, landscaping, construction, maintenance or another practical trade will be advantageous; however, full training will be provided to the successful candidate.
