About the role
At Carinity Education – Shalom, we’re committed to providing a supportive and inclusive learning environment where every student can thrive. The Indigenous Youth and Family Support Worker encourages the spiritual and cultural development of students, particularly young Indigenous students, identifying personal support needs and strategies for overcoming barriers to their education.
This role requires availability Monday to Friday between 7:30 AM and 3:30 PM.
What do you need for the role?
- Certificate IV in Youth Work, Community Services or a similar relevant discipline
- Demonstrated experience in working with Indigenous families and students or other relevant experience, preferably within a school environment
- Highly developed verbal and written communication skills
- Highly developed interpersonal skills with the ability to relate to all students, teachers, support staff, parents and families within the school community
- Hold a current Working with Children check (Blue Card)
