- Temporary part time Occupational Therapist (Grade 2), 30hrs per fortnight until 4.10.26.
- Primary caseload of Acute orthopaedic/medical inpatients
- Access to 5 weeks annual leave (pro-rata) plus 1 week of extra grant leave (pro-rata) and salary packaging

About the Role

The successful applicant will carry a primary caseload of Orthopaedic/Medical Acute inpatients, with flexibility to support clinical demand in other streams within the hospital. There are opportunities for collaborative teamwork including participation in a daily multidisciplinary discharge planning meeting and ward rounds. The role supports supervision of a Gr 1 Occupational Therapist within the Clinical Rotation Program. The role also supports the learning and development of Allied Health Assistants and Occupational Therapy undergraduate students. The role includes a 1:4 weekend shift requirement.

Keyresponsibilities

- Deliver high-quality, evidence-based clinical care, independently managing a clinical caseload and providing assessment, treatment, care planning and review in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
- Provide clinical leadership and support others,



contributing to service strategies and projects, supervising junior staff and students, and sharing knowledge across the service.
- Drive quality improvement and professional practice, contributing to research, service improvement, risk management, data and documentation initiatives while maintaining current clinical expertise and CPD.
- Deliver safe, ethical and inclusive practice, ensuring care meets professional standards, legislation and Barwon Health policies while promoting health literacy, cultural safety and effective use of resources.

- Current professional registration and clinical expertise, with the experience, knowledge and skills to practise independently and support the development of others.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to build effective relationships, manage challenging conversations and work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.
- Commitment to career development and continuous learning, using reflective practice and evidence-based knowledge to continually improve clinical practice.
- Strong digital capability and alignment with Barwon Health values, with confidence using IT systems and a demonstrated commitment to respectful, compassionate, accountable, innovative and culturally safe practice.
