As a Sales Director at Nasdaq, reporting to the AVP of Sales, you will be accountable for driving enterprise software sales growth across new and existing accounts in the financial markets space. You will bring a proven track record in complex, long-cycle sales and the strategic instincts to navigate senior client relationships - from first conversation to close. You will thrive in this role if you bring executive presence, a hunter’s mindset, and deep domain expertise in one or more of the following areas: Banking Regulatory Reporting, Capital Markets, Treasury, Investments, Risk and Compliance, or broader FinTech solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage the full enterprise software sales cycle - from prospecting through to close - across complex, long-cycle opportunities within financial markets and FinTech. Develop and execute a strategic territory plan designed to build a continuous pipeline of new accounts while expanding existing client relationships. Represent Nasdaq at the executive and C-suite level, delivering compelling, solution-focused presentations that address clients' most critical business challenges. Mobilize and align Nasdaq's internal sales support ecosystem - including Pre-Sales, Product, Operations, Legal, Marketing, and Finance - to ensure seamless client experience from prospect to partnership. Champion a disciplined, high-performance approach to the sales process, including lead generation, pricing, proposal development, and commercial negotiation. Partner with business development and cross-functional teams to advance Nasdaq's go-to-market strategies and achieve consistent, measurable revenue outcomes.
Required Qualifications
Extensive experience in enterprise software sales, with a demonstrated track record of closing complex, long-cycle deals within financial markets, FinTech, or regulated industries. Proven success engaging and influencing senior stakeholders and C-suite decision-makers to drive strategic outcomes. Strong ability to build and manage multi-stakeholder relationships across internal and external teams in a matrixed,
global workplace. Consistent, sustained high performance over a mid-to-long-term tenure within a sales organization. Exceptional communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, with the confidence to represent Nasdaq at the highest levels. Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience. Strong problem-solving skills, resilience, and a proactive can-do attitude.
Preferred Qualifications
Deep knowledge in one or more of the following areas: Banking Regulatory Reporting, Risk and Compliance, Capital Markets, Treasury, Investments, or related domain. Strong track record of building and maintaining strategic client relationships, driving client engagement, identifying, nurturing, and closing opportunities for account growth within complex enterprise sales environments. Deep experience with account management best practices in complex, enterprise sales environments. Experience working with buy-side institutions, including superannuation funds, asset managers, investment managers, or similar institutional investors, is also desirable.
This position is based in Sydney, Australia and offers the opportunity for a hybrid work environment with at least 2 days per week in-office, subject to change, providing flexibility and accessibility for qualified candidates. This is a permanent, full-time role so candidates should have full working rights in Australia. To be eligible to apply, you must have Australian citizenship or permanent residency status.
