Lawyer - Commercial Insurance Litigation

Aleading national law firm is seeking a Lawyer to join its highly regarded Insurance Litigation & Commercial Litigation team in Sydney.

This is an excellent prospect to work alongside a respected partner on a diverse range of transport, marine and trade-related disputes. The team acts for insurers, corporations, freight forwarders and government authorities across complex litigation matters involving shipping, aviation, road and rail.

The Role

You will work across a broad range of insurance litigation matters, including:

- Coverage and indemnity disputes
- Cargo recovery and liability claims
- Marine, aviation, road and rail litigation
- Transport and trade-related disputes
- Reviewing claims and providing strategic legal advice
- Drafting court documents, pleadings and correspondence
- Managing matters from commencement through to resolution
- Appearing before courts and tribunals where appropriate

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- 3–5 years' PAE in insurance litigation or commercial litigation
- Experience in transport insurance, cargo recoveries or policy coverage disputes is advantageous but not essential
- Candidates with experience in subrogated property, property damage, liability claims or broader insurance litigation are encouraged to apply
- Strong drafting, analytical and advocacy skills
- Excellent client relationship and stakeholder management abilities
- A proactive approach and strong attention to detail
