We are seeking an experienced Technical Lead to support a major Data & Digital delivery program within a large Federal Government environment.
The role will provide technical leadership and oversight across business and technology change initiatives, working closely with Project Managers, architects, developers, operations teams, vendors and business stakeholders.
You’ll help translate architecture into practical, implementable solutions and guide technical delivery across applications, infrastructure and enterprise systems.

Key responsibilities:

- Provide technical leadership and oversight across project and program delivery
- Lead the design, development and implementation of applications and systems
- Translate architecture and technical requirements into practical solution approaches
- Guide teams on architecture, engineering practices and standards
- Facilitate code reviews, technical problem-solving and developer mentoring
- Coordinate across developers, operations, architects, vendors and stakeholders
- Manage technical risks, issues and dependencies
- Support technical governance, documentation and Go-Live readiness
- Establish and maintain CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
- Support transition from development into operations and ongoing support
- Strong software development and technical delivery leadership experience
- Ability to translate architecture into implementable solutions
- Experience with cloud environments such as AWS, CI/CD and DevOps
- Knowledge of security standards, testing and compliance requirements




- Experience coordinating multidisciplinary technical teams and stakeholders
- Strong technical documentation and delivery framework experience
- Understanding of enterprise systems, networking and data architectures
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills

Essential:

- Robust software development and technical delivery leadership experience
- Ability to translate architecture into implementable solutions
- Experience with cloud environments such as AWS, CI/CD and DevOps
- Knowledge of security standards, testing and compliance requirements
- Experience coordinating multidisciplinary technical teams and stakeholders
- Strong technical documentation and delivery framework experience
- Understanding of enterprise systems, networking and data architectures
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills

Highly regarded:

- Experience within Federal Government or other large, regulated environments
- Broad application architecture experience across on-premises and cloud environments
- Experience with bespoke and COTS applications
- DevSecOps tooling such as GitLab, SonarQube, Nexus, JMeter, Maven or Selenium
- Broad exposure to technologies such as Linux, Oracle, Python, Java and C/C++
- Experience delivering solutions aligned with enterprise architecture and security standards

This role suits a technically broad Technical Lead who is comfortable operating between architecture, engineering and project delivery rather than specialising in one particular technology.
