An exciting opportunity is available for a motivated individual to commence a Certificate III in Locksmithing apprenticeship.
This apprenticeship is completed over 3–4 years and includes both on-the-job training and off-the-job study. Apprentices will attend TAFE in Heidelberg, Melbourne (VIC) as a block release student for approximately two weeks at a time, four times per year, over a three-year period.
Throughout the apprenticeship, the successful candidate will gain experience across a wide range of locksmithing services, including:
- Automotive locksmithing, including lockouts, key cutting, lock repairs and electronic transponder systems.
- Safe servicing, including safe opening, key fitting, lock picking and electronic safe lock systems.
- Workshop operations, including key cutting, lock repairs, master key systems and customer service.
- Mobile locksmithing, including lock installation,
repairs and maintenance at customer sites.
The successful applicant will demonstrate:
- A professional and well-presented appearance.
- Strong attention to detail.
- A willingness to learn and follow instructions.
- Honesty, reliability and trustworthiness.
- Good organisational and communication skills.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Confidence using hand tools or an interest in hands-on work.
- A willingness to work reasonable overtime when required.
- A current driver's licence.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a satisfactory National Police Check.
