Our client is a leading Australian-owned automation systems integrator delivering innovative automation solutions across the Food & Beverage, FMCG, Packaging, Manufacturing and Industrial sectors. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced PLC Programmer Specialist / Control Systems Engineer to join their Melbourne team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a variety of bespoke automation projects, programming, commissioning and supporting advanced industrial control systems using leading PLC technologies.

As a senior member of the engineering team, you will be responsible for developing reliable, high-performance automation solutions from scratch while working closely with project managers, electrical engineers and clients throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop, modify and maintain PLC software primarily using Omron and Allen-Bradley
- Commission new automation systems and upgrade existing production equipment.
- Troubleshoot PLC programs, instrumentation, drives and industrial networks.
- Produce explicit technical documentation including functional specifications and commissioning reports.

ABOUT YOU
You are a hands-on automation professional who enjoys solving technical challenges and delivering high-quality solutions for industrial clients. You take pride in producing robust PLC code from scratch and enjoy working both in the office and on customer sites. To be successful you will have:





- Proven experience developing code on Omron / Allen-Bradley / Rockwell Automation PLCs.
- Knowledge of industrial communications including Ethernet/IP, EtherCAT and Modbus.
- Experience commissioning automation systems within manufacturing or industrial environments.
- Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding skills.
- Ability to read electrical drawings and technical documentation.
- Electrical, Engineering or Automation qualification
