Central West Pine Creations is a locally owned timber by-product business, specialising in the processing and supply of quality woodchip & sawdust. Supporting a range of industries including agriculture, landscaping & animal bedding, we are looking for a reliable Forwarder Operator to join our operation.
This is an excellent prospect to work in a dynamic forestry environment with modern equipment and a supportive team.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a Komatsu 895 Forwarder to extract and transport timber from harvest sites to roadside piles.
- Daily operations include the collection of leftover residue from harvesting, transporting residue roadside and chipping product into walking floor trailers.
- Conduct daily machine inspections and basic preventative maintenance.
- Maintain effective time management and ensure daily & weekly KPI's are met.
- Monitor machine performance and report faults or maintenance requirements.
- Maintain high standards of workplace safety and environmental compliance.
- Complete operational records and pre-start documentation as required.
- Work effectively within a small team environment while also being capable of operating independently and managing workloads with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrate initiative and problem-solving skills when working in remote forestry operations.
About You
- Previous experience operating a forestry forwarder or forestry work.
- Strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to work in varying terrain and weather conditions.
- Current driver's licence.
- First Aid Certificate (desired but not essential).
