Role Description This is a part time remote role for an API Developer at CRED. The API Developer will design, implement, and maintain APIs that enable secure and efficient data sharing across sectoral data spaces and between different public and private stakeholders.

Day-to-day tasks include collaborating with data architects and technical teams to define API requirements, developing and testing RESTful and other relevant API interfaces, and integrating APIs with existing data platforms and infrastructures. The person in this role will document API specifications, support interoperability and standardization efforts, troubleshoot issues, optimize performance, and contribute to technical guidelines and best practices. The API Developer will also participate in code reviews, ensure compliance with security and privacy standards, and help improve the overall developer experience for organizations adopting CRED’s reference implementations.

Qualifications

- Strong skills in API design and development, including experience with RESTful APIs and JSON-based services.




- Proficiency in at least one backend programming language commonly used for APIs (e.g., Python, Java, Node.js) and related frameworks.
- Experience with API documentation and specification tools (e.g., OpenAPI/Swagger, Postman) and version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Knowledge of data integration, interoperability standards, and working with relational and/or NoSQL databases.
- Understanding of security, authentication, and authorization mechanisms (e.g., OAuth2, JWT, TLS) and data privacy considerations.
- Familiarity with cloud environments or container-based deployments (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD practices.
- Ability to collaborate in multidisciplinary teams, communicate technical concepts clearly, and work independently in a remote setting.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Experience with data spaces, public sector digital projects, or data economy initiatives is a plus.
