Role DescriptionAn Assistant Professor / Professor is responsible for delivering high-quality teaching, conducting research, mentoring students, developing academic programs, and contributing to the intellectual and professional development of a university, college, or research institution. The role combines teaching, scholarship, academic service, curriculum development, and collaboration with academic and professional communities.

Key responsibilities include designing and delivering undergraduate and postgraduate courses, lectures, seminars, tutorials, workshops, laboratories, and other academic activities; developing and updating course syllabi, teaching materials, assessments, assignments, examinations, and digital learning resources; creating engaging and inclusive learning environments that encourage critical thinking, creativity, research, discussion, and independent learning; evaluating student performance and providing constructive academic feedback; advising and mentoring students on academic progress, research projects, dissertations, theses, and career development; supervising undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral research where applicable; conducting original research and contributing new knowledge to the relevant academic discipline; developing research proposals and supporting funded research projects; publishing research findings in peer-reviewed journals, books, conference proceedings, and other scholarly publications; presenting research at academic conferences, seminars, workshops, and professional events; collaborating with researchers, universities, industry organizations, government institutions, and professional bodies; participating in peer review, editorial activities, academic committees, conferences, and scholarly networks; contributing to curriculum development, academic program reviews, accreditation, quality assurance,



and institutional improvement; supporting student recruitment, admissions, examinations, academic advising, and departmental activities; developing interdisciplinary teaching and research initiatives; incorporating learning-management systems, educational technology, artificial intelligence, data analytics, virtual classrooms, and innovative teaching methods into academic activities; maintaining accurate academic, research, assessment, and student records; supporting knowledge transfer, consultancy, innovation, entrepreneurship, and research commercialization where applicable; promoting academic integrity, research ethics, diversity, inclusion, and responsible scholarship; contributing to departmental and institutional strategic initiatives; and continuously improving teaching quality, research impact, student outcomes, academic programs, and institutional performance.

Qualifications

- Doctoral degree such as PhD, EdD, DBA, or equivalent in the relevant academic discipline is generally expected.
- Strong academic background and subject-matter expertise in the relevant field.
- Strong understanding of teaching methodologies, curriculum development, assessment design, and academic instruction.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong research, analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to develop lectures, course materials, assessments, research proposals, academic publications, and scholarly presentations.




- Strong understanding of research methodologies, academic writing, statistical analysis, and scholarly publishing where applicable.
- Ability to supervise student research, dissertations, theses, capstone projects, and academic work.
- Strong student mentoring, academic advising, and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with learning-management systems, educational technology, virtual classrooms, academic databases, and digital research platforms.
- Knowledge of artificial intelligence, data analytics, digital learning, AI-assisted research, and emerging educational technologies is advantageous.
- Solid understanding of research ethics, academic integrity, intellectual property, citation practices, and responsible research.
- Ability to collaborate with faculty members, researchers, students, industry partners, professional organizations, and external institutions.
- Strong scholarly publication, conference participation, grant-development, or research engagement capabilities.
- Ability to contribute to curriculum reviews, accreditation processes, academic committees, and institutional initiatives.
- Robust organizational and time-management skills with the ability to balance teaching, research, supervision, administration, and academic service.
- Professional memberships, teaching certifications, academic accreditation, or relevant disciplinary credentials are advantageous where applicable.
- Robust commitment to student success, academic excellence, research innovation, knowledge creation, and lifelong learning.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, intellectual curiosity, independence, and academic responsibility.
- Commitment to staying informed about emerging research, AI in education, digital learning, interdisciplinary scholarship, and developments within the relevant academic field.
