Senior Disability Support Worker / Disability Support Worker – Supported Independent Living (SIL)

We Care Support Servicesis a values-driven NDIS provider delivering high-quality Supported Independent Living (SIL) and community supports to people with complex support needs.

We are seeking compassionate, reliable and skilledSenior Disability Support Workers and Disability Support Workersto join our SIL teams and provide exceptional person-centred support to participants living with disability.

About the Role

As aSenior Disability Support Worker or Disability Support Worker, you will provide high-quality daily support to participants with complex and diverse needs, ensuring services are delivered safely, respectfully and in accordance with participant goals, care plans and NDIS Practice Standards.

Working alongside our SIL Team Leaders, Registered Nurse and leadership team, you will contribute to a positive team culture focused on participant wellbeing, dignity, safety and quality outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

You will support participants with:

- Daily personal activities and independent living skills.
- Community participation and social inclusion.
- Health, wellbeing and personal care needs.
- Following participant routines, care plans and support strategies.
- Accurate progress notes, documentation and communication.
- Medication support in accordance with training and organisational requirements.
- Safe manual handling, transfers and mobility support.




- Promoting participant choice, dignity and independence.
- Maintaining a safe, respectful and inclusive environment.

Senior Disability Support Workers will also provide additional support through:

- Supporting new team members through guidance and role modelling.
- Sharing knowledge and promoting best practice.
- Assisting with maintaining consistent support approaches.
- Supporting the Team Leader with day-to-day team communication.

Complex Care Experience

Our participants have complex support needs. Experience supporting some or all of the following is highly desirable:

- PEG feeding and enteral nutrition.
- Epilepsy and seizure management.
- Dysphagia and mealtime management.
- BiPAP and non-invasive ventilation supports.
- Manual handling, transfers and hoisting.
- Infection prevention and control.
- Medication management and clinical documentation.
- High-intensity daily personal activities in line with NDIS Practice Standards.

About You

You are someone who:

- Is passionate about supporting people with disability to achieve their goals.
- Demonstrates compassion, patience and respect.
- Has experience supporting participants with complex disability and high support needs.
- Can work confidently both independently and as part of a team.
- Communicates effectively and maintains accurate documentation.
- Values participant choice, dignity and empowerment.
- Is committed to learning and developing your skills.

Applicants must have:





- Experience working within disability support services.
- Demonstrated understanding of person-centred support.
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (or willingness to obtain).
- Current First Aid and CPR Certificate.
- Current Australian Driver Licence.
- Evidence of the right to work in Australia.
- Ability to complete required organisational training and competency assessments.
- A Certificate III or Certificate IV in Individual Support, Disability, Community Services or related qualification is highly regarded.
