About Curtin Heritage Curtin Heritage is a not-for-profit provider of residential aged care, retirement living and in-home services, predominantly in the western suburbs of Perth. The organisation aims to provide the very best aged care accommodation and services that meet the growing needs of our community. It is self-sustaining and recognised as an innovator in the industry.
The organisation is known for its award-winning care community in Cottesloe. We are now embarking on a $400million+ care community development in Mosman Park that will set a new standard for integrated living.
Curtin Heritage’s board currently comprises seven directors, all of whom have extensive corporate and board experience. All directors have a shared passion for the provision of quality aged care services and an interest in sound corporate governance processes.
The Opportunity
We are seeking two non-executive directors to join our board as part of planned Board renewal. Consideration will be given to future succession for the Board Chair and Chair of Finance and Audit Committee.
As a director, you will play a key role in:
- Developing and monitoring the strategic plan
- Governance and oversight of the organisation
- Organisational performance and sustainability
- Overseeing financial, clinical and enterprise risk
- Integrity, leadership and upholding the organisations values
Directors attend regular board and committee meetings that are usually held in person in Cottesloe. Directors also participate in occasional strategic planning, education, and community engagement activities. Directors will be compensated and can take advantage of generous salary packaging arrangements.
Skills And Experience
Mandatory Capabilities
We are seeking candidates with capabilities in one or more of the following areas.
- Advanced financial literacy, with the ability to analyse financial reports, identify emerging risks, challenge assumptions and provide strategic insight.
- Experience in digital transformation and organisational integration of advanced technologies, and related governance frameworks and oversight
- Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to balance mission and sustainable service delivery
- Demonstrated governance experience with sound judgement, constructive challenge and a commitment to high‑quality decision‑making and organisational integrity
Desired Capabilities
- Experience as a Board Chair, Deputy Chair or Committee Chair
- Understanding of state and federal government funding environments
- Graduate Member of the AICD
