MSJ Alliance is looking for a professional cabinetmaker to join our team.
We are looking for a self- motivated, English speaking, articulate person to fill the role of Cabinetmaker within our company. This is a Permanent Full-Time Position, 38 hours per week.
Your duties will include: Cabinetmaking Responsibilities
- Interpret architectural drawings, CAD shop drawings and cutting lists, work orders, and samples to accurately determine specifications and requirements
- Select, prepare, and work with materials including solid timber, veneers, particleboard, MDF, and synthetic substrates
- Set out, cut, machine, and shape components using appropriate tools and equipment to achieve precise dimensions and finishes
- Manufacture cabinetry, furniture, and joinery items in accordance with approved drawings and specifications
- Assemble components into completed units, ensuring structural integrity, accuracy, and quality workmanship
- Install and fit hardware including hinges, runners, locks, catches, shelves, and other fittings to specification
- Construct frames and structural elements for furniture and joinery as required
- Carry out repairs, modifications, and refurbishments to existing joinery and furniture as needed
- Operating state-of-the-art machinery—including CNC machines, panel saws, edge banders, and specialized power tools—you will play a critical role in ensuring our custom joinery meets exacting quality standards and specifications prior to site installation
- Inspect finished units for sizing or material defects and proactively coordinate with Factory Managers to resolve drawing or material discrepancies.
- Label, wrap, protect, and pack completed joinery units safely to ensure damage-free transit to installation sites Installation Responsibilities
- Read and interpret installation drawings and site documentation to ensure correct placement and sequencing of joinery
- Install cabinetry and joinery in office, ensuring accuracy, level, plumb, and alignment with surrounding trades and finishes
- Set out units in accordance with site conditions, making necessary adjustments while maintaining design intent
- Coordinate with site supervisors and other trades to ensure efficient workflow and minimise delays or rework
- Identify and report site issues, discrepancies, or access constraints prior to and during installation
- Ensure all installed items are completed to a high standard, including correct operation of doors, drawers, and hardware
- Protect installed joinery from damage and maintain a clean and safe work area on-site
- Complete defect rectification and final adjustments as required during project handover Tools & Equipment Requirement
- Supply and maintain all tools and equipment required to complete factory and on-site installation works
- Ensure all tools are in good working order, compliant with safety requirements, and suitable for the tasks being undertaken General Responsibilities
- Maintain a high standard of finish, ensuring all work meets company quality expectations and project requirements
- Work efficiently to meet production and installation deadlines while maintaining safety and attention to detail The successful applicant will need to be a qualified cabinetmaker, hold Certificate III in Cabinet Making and have a minimum of 2 years’ work experience as a professional cabinetmaker.
Preference will be given to applicants with experience working on a number of projects simultaneously, showing a commitment to ongoing education and self-improvement.
