About the Position

The Chef role is central to the daily operations of Charcoal Grill House. The successful candidate will take responsibility for planning, preparing and cooking high-quality dishes to consistent standards, ensuring food is produced efficiently and presented to the expected quality. This position plays a key part in supporting the kitchen team, maintaining food safety and hygiene, and helping deliver the authentic dining experience that defines the business.

Key Responsibilities

Plan and prepare a range of menu items, with particular focus on charcoal-grilled and traditional dishes

Monitor quality,



presentation and consistency of all food at every stage of preparation and service

Order, receive and manage food supplies and stock levels efficiently

Maintain strict food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety standards in the kitchen

Work collaboratively with kitchen and front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service

Assist with menu development, cost control and kitchen organisation as required

Demonstrate cooking techniques and support junior kitchen staff where needed

Complete opening, closing and cleaning duties to the required standard

Requirements

Australian citizens and permanent residents are encouraged to apply

Certificate III and Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery

Minimum of 1 year relevant experience as a Chef

Strong technical skills in food preparation, cooking techniques (including grilling), portion control and kitchen organisation

Sound knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices

Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a busy kitchen environment

Good interpersonal and communication skills, with the capacity to work effectively as part of a team

Reliability, attention to detail and a commitment to consistent quality
