Horizon Mining Energy and Civil - HMEC is currently seeking experienced Heavy Duty Mechanics / Heavy Duty Fitters on both 2&1 and 2&2 rosters to join our growing mining operations team based on numerous sites in the Goldfield / Murchison Regions of Western Australia. This is a casual to full time position with the potential for ongoing work as part of our dynamic and collaborative workforce.
What you'll be doing
- Performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on a range of heavy mining equipment, including bulldozers, excavators, and haul trucks
- Troubleshooting and diagnosing equipment issues to ensure optimal performance and reliability
- Carrying out inspections, servicing, and repairs to the highest safety and quality standards
- Reporting on equipment status and maintenance activities to the team
- Collaborating with other maintenance and operations personnel to coordinate workflows
What we're looking for
- Formally qualified Heavy Duty Mechanic or Heavy Duty Fitter with 3+ years of experience in a mining or heavy industry setting
- Demonstrated expertise in maintaining and repairing a variety of heavy mobile plant and equipment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to quickly identify and resolve equipment issues
- Commitment to working safely and in compliance with all relevant policies and procedures
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities to collaborate effectively with colleagues
