Technical Financial Controller sought by an ASX property group. Lead reporting, audits, tax, controls, and systems; drive process and team excellence.
- $220,000 - $250,000 Package (inclusive of Super) + Bonus
- Sydney CBD & Flexible work environment (2 to 3 WFH)

About the Role
An ASX listed property and development group is seeking a technically strong Financial Controller to join its high-performing team. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced finance professional to take ownership of core financial operations, drive process and systems improvements, and play a pivotal role in supporting business growth across property assets and projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly management accounts, consolidate across multiple property entities, and deliver insightful board and executive commentary, variance analysis, cash flow forecasting, and budgets.
- Lead the preparation of half-year and year-end financial statements for the group and subsidiaries, ensuring compliance with ASX and IFRS standards.
- Oversee the financial reporting team, setting development plans and fostering a high-performance culture.
Audit & Statutory Compliance
- Manage annual audits and half-year reviews, ensuring all statutory deadlines are met.
- Prepare technical accounting papers for board and audit committee review.
- Oversee tax return processes and ATO lodgements, including Payment Times Reporting and Taxable Payments Reporting.
Controls & Systems
- Develop and monitor robust financial reporting controls suitable for a scaling property business.
- Champion the use of Jobpac, Workiva,
and other industry-leading systems to drive reporting quality and efficiency.
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase team efficiency and reporting accuracy.
Sustainability & EHSQ
- Collaborate with EHSQ and procurement teams to ensure timely, accurate sustainability reporting in line with relevant standards.
- Embed EHSQ considerations into financial processes and data capture.
M&A; and Growth
- Support information gathering and analysis for potential property acquisitions and disposals.
- Prepare technical accounting papers and assist with modelling for growth initiatives.
About You
- CA/CPA qualified, with a degree or in Accounting.
- Background in Big 4 or mid-tier skilled services, and at least 4 years as a Finance Manager.
- Experience in property, real estate, or a similar technical environment.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office, Jobpac
- Proven ability to build and lead high-performing teams, with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, able to partner effectively with executives, auditors, and external advisors.
- Detail-oriented, resilient, and proactive, with a collaborative approach.
