Your typical day-to-day work will include providing high-quality commercial, financial, governance and policy analysis to support Treasury's oversight of government businesses in the energy and water sectors. The role contributes to the development of advice, policy initiatives and stakeholder engagement activities by undertaking research, analysis and project support that informs decision making and strengthens commercial and policy outcomes.
Key responsibilities

- Assess and monitor strategies and performance of state owned corporations and commercial government businesses
- Work with businesses to deliver shareholder value and returns
- Support alignment with government policy and strong governance
- Develop and support implementation of the NSW Government Commercial Policy Framework
About you
- Experience analysing financial, commercial or policy issues and providing evidence-based advice
- Robust stakeholder engagement, communication and influencing skills
- Ability to think critically, solve problems and manage competing priorities
- Understanding of governance,
commercial principles or government business environments
- Relevant qualifications or equivalent experience in finance, commerce, accounting, law or business
- Must be an Australian or New Zealand citizen or permanent resident of Australia

The Commercial Group is responsible for commercial policy development, major projects and commercial transactions, managing State's shareholding in its commercial businesses, analysis and review of State's commercial assets and liabilities as well as oversight of the state insurance schemes. Commercial Assets manages the NSW Government's shareholding in State owned corporations and other commercial government businesses, assessing and monitoring their strategies and performance.
