Job Summary
The primary purpose of the Refrigeration Technician’s role is to conduct installations, repairs and preventative maintenance of marine refrigeration systems.
More specifically:
- Read and interpret blueprints and compliance schematics
- Conduct pressure testing, evacuate, and charge refrigeration systems
- Install refrigeration piping and equipment
- Problem solve,
dismantle and repair malfunctioning refrigeration and air-conditioning equipment
- Field running, testing, and commissioning of completed refrigeration systems
- Test, repair and connect wiring to electric power source within electrical license restrictions
- Remain abreast of technological advances within refrigeration
- Provide support in non-refrigeration tasks within capabilities
The Successful Applicant
The successful candidate shall possess:
- Air-conditioning and refrigeration mechanical trade certificate
- Restricted WA C Class electrical endorsement
- Min 3-5 years’ experience of marine and commercial refrigeration systems
- Advanced mechanical aptitude
- Full ARCtick Fluorocarbon Refrigerant Handling license
- Self-motivation and enthusiasm
