ABOUT THIS ROLE

At Enable Hub we are looking for compassionate male Disability Support Worker who are looking to apply their talents and efforts in helping the community members who most need it.

A support worker working in the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) in NSW provides direct assistance and support to individuals with disabilities. The role involves promoting independence, assisting with daily living activities, implementing care plans, and facilitating community participation to enhance the well-being and quality of life of NDIS participants.

JOB Title: Support Worker (Disability and Aged Care)

JOB TYPE: Casual

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Core duties include:

- Support participants with personal care and hygiene in line with their care plans
- Assist with domestic tasks to maintain a safe and clean home setting
- Facilitate community access for shopping, appointments, and recreational outings




- Provide transport using personal or company vehicle if required
- Support participants to build independent living skills (e.g. budgeting, cooking)
- Implement behavior support strategies under supervision (if applicable)
- Complete shift notes and incident reports accurately and on time
- Respect participant choice and control in all aspects of service delivery
- Communicate effectively with participants, families, and allied health professionals
- Uphold NDIS Code of Conduct and participant confidentiality
- Follow risk management and manual handling procedures
- Monitor and report any changes in a participant's condition or environment

Other Responsibilities

- Use NDIS software or apps for rostering and documentation information
- Participate in regular supervision, training, and team meetings
- Adhere to incident management, restrictive practices, and safeguarding procedures
- Escalate concerns to supervisors in line with organisational policies

QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES

Required Qualities

- Compassionate, respectful, reliable, and participant-focused approach.
- Ability to work independently in the community and follow instructions, support plans, and organisational procedures.
- Positive judgement, patience, emotional resilience,



and ability to remain calm in challenging situations.
- Strong time management, punctuality, attention to detail, and accurate documentation skills.

Desirable Competencies:

- Experience supporting people with disability, psychosocial disability, autism, complex behaviours, personal care needs, or community access goals.
- Understanding of NDIS principles, participant choice and control, safeguarding, duty of care, dignity of risk, and person-centred practice.
- Ability to use mobile apps or online systems for rosters, shift notes, incident reporting, and communication.
- Additional training in medication assistance, manual handling, infection control, mental health, positive behaviour support, or complex care.

Qualifications:

- Minimum Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) or equivalent
- Current First Aid and CPR certificate
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module
- NDIS Worker Screening Clearance
- Working With Children Check
- Valid Australian Driving Licence

Experience:

- At least 1 year of experience in a support worker or similar position
