The Drainer / Pipelayer works under the direction of the Supervisor and passes on direction to the offsiders. They are required to assist the Supervisor with planning of the pipework and assist with the setting out of work and selection of plant required to complete the works.

Drainer / Pipelayers are responsible for but not limited to:

· Preparation of trenching beds as specified, to suit the pipe being laid as per the Company Safe Work Method Statements;

· Digging trenches to desired or required depths, by hand or trenching equipment

· Grade and level trench bases, using tamping machines and hand tools.

· Check slopes for conformance to requirements, using levels or lasers;

· Cut pipes to required lengths;

· Connecting pipe pieces and seal joints, using welding equipment, cement, or glue;





· Assist with the installation and repair below ground water drainage systems;

· Laying out pipe routes, following Secure Work Method Statements and design plans;

· Coordinating layouts with supervisors

· Backfilling pipes with earth or other materials as required in accordance with the design whilst ensuring no damage occurs to coatings and pipework;

Testing all pipework and backfill for commissioning

Skills/Experience: Must holds at least 3 to 4 years

Qualification: holds appropriate qualifications

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 – $95,000.00 per year
