Why Should You Apply?
This is an opportunity to step into a role where you can genuinely leave your mark.
The business is investing in strengthening its electrical maintenance framework and is looking for someone who can assess the current environment, identify the priorities and progressively implement sustainable improvements.
You won't be expected to change everything overnight. You'll have the autonomy to develop a roadmap, work closely with an experienced electrical workforce and build the systems and processes required to support a complex operation into the future.
You'll also be joining at an exciting time as the broader operation continues to invest in automation, technology and asset modernisation.
About the Role
Working within the Engineering function, the Electrical Superintendent will act as the site's Electrical Subject Matter Expert across a large and diverse asset base.
While there are no direct reports, you will provide technical direction and guidance to a team of electricians while partnering closely with Maintenance, Automation, Reliability and Operations.
The role combines electrical technical leadership, compliance, maintenance improvement and change management. Building credibility with the workforce will be equally as significant as your technical knowledge.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the site's Electrical SME and escalation point for complex electrical matters.
- Strengthen electrical governance, procedures, documentation and compliance.
- Provide technical guidance and direction to the electrical maintenance workforce.
- Ensure alignment with Australian electrical legislation, standards and safe working practices.
- Support maintenance and improvement activities across fixed and mobile plant.
- Provide technical leadership across HV and LV systems, switching and PLC-controlled equipment.
- Partner closely with Automation and broader Engineering teams on technical improvements.
- Identify gaps, establish priorities and develop a structured roadmap for electrical improvement.
- Support change management and embed sustainable maintenance practices across the operation.
The Ideal Candidate for This Position Will Have Experience in the Following:
- Electrical maintenance leadership within a complex, asset intensive environment.
- Strong knowledge of Australian electrical legislation, standards and compliance requirements.
- HV and LV systems and switching.
- PLC-controlled equipment, with Siemens experience advantageous but not essential.
- Fixed and/or mobile plant within mining, resources, heavy manufacturing or similar industrial environments.
- Developing or improving electrical procedures, maintenance standards and governance frameworks.
- Strong communication, stakeholder engagement and change management capability.
- Electrical Engineering qualifications advantageous; however, experienced trade-qualified electrical professionals will also be considered.
