Western Highway Duplication Section 2B – Register Your Interest

Project Engineer Opportunities The CPB Contractors and Seymour Whyte Constructions Joint Venture (CPBSWC JV) is currently working with the Victorian Infrastructure Delivery Authority (VIDA) toward the delivery of the Western Highway Duplication – Section 2B, located between Pope Road, Buangor and Warrayatkin Road, Ararat.

While the TOC process is still ongoing and the contract has not yet been awarded, we are opening Expressions of Interest (EOIs) early to provide our people with the first opportunity to register their interest in joining what is expected to be a high-profile regional infrastructure project.

This project presents an exciting opportunity for experienced Project Engineers to contribute to the delivery of a major transport corridor upgrade while gaining valuable experience across large-scale earthworks, structures, and live highway environments.

About the Project

The Western Highway (A8) is the principal road transport corridor connecting Melbourne and Adelaide. It plays a critical role in supporting interstate freight, regional communities, agriculture, and tourism. The section between Ballarat and Stawell is one of the busiest rural highways in Victoria.

The proposed upgrade of the Western Highway between Buangor and Ararat (Section 2B) includes the construction of approximately 12 kilometres of four-lane divided highway, comprising:

- 6.5km of new dual carriageway highway between Pope Road, Buangor and Picnic Ground Road, Warrak




- Upgrade and duplication of the existing Western Highway between Picnic Ground Road, Warrak and Warrayatkin Road, Ararat
- Major bulk earthworks
- Construction of bridge structures over the Hopkins River and the Melbourne-Ararat V/Line railway line
- Removal of the existing Hopkins River bridge structure
