Where you'll be working

The Frenches Forest location offers an excellent lifestyle balance with beaches, walking trails, cafes, and family‑friendly neighbourhoods right on your doorstep. NBH is a state-of-the-art, 494‑bed facility located just minutes from some of Australia’s most iconic coastline. A modern hospital with contemporary facilities, advanced technologies, and a supportive culture. The surgical wards offer exciting opportunities for Assistant in Nurses who are eager to grow, learn, and make a meaningful impact in a dynamic surgical environment. With exposure to a diverse mix of complex surgical cases, this role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast‑paced settings and is motivated by continuous professional development. We are recruiting across four wards, and you will be exposed to orthopaedic, urology, neurology, spinal surgery and general surgery, plastic surgery, vascular surgery, breast and endocrine surgery, to name a few; the wards each have a strong educational culture and supportive management to ensure you’re never navigating challenges alone.

What you'll be doing
As an Assistant in Nursing (AIN),



you will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to support the delivery of safe, compassionate, and patient-centred care across a variety of clinical settings and facilities. This role offers versatile work opportunities and exposure to diverse specialty areas, allowing you to further develop your clinical skills and experience within a supportive healthcare environment.

People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background are encouraged to apply.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

1. Currently enrolled in second or third year of a Bachelor of Nursing or degree deemed appropriate; or current enrolment in Diploma of Nursing (HLT54121) with evidence of completion of Block 1; or completion of HLT33115 Certificate III in Health Services Assistance (Assisting in Nursing Work in Acute Care).
2. Demonstrated, effective written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
3. Demonstrated ability to work in a team.
4. Demonstrated computer skills with experience using MS Office programs and electronic filing systems.
