We are currently seeking an experienced Switchboard Electrician ready to take the next step into a Leading Hand position.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who has strong experience building low-voltage switchboards and is confident guiding others, organising workshop activities and maintaining a high standard of workmanship.

You will remain actively working on the tools while also taking responsibility for helping coordinate the workshop, supporting other team members and keeping projects on track.

The Role

Your responsibilities will include:

- Building and wiring low-voltage electrical switchboards
- Reading and working from electrical drawings and schematics
- Fitting electrical components and switchboard equipment
- Busbar fabrication and assembly
- Organising and coordinating day-to-day workshop tasks
- Assisting and guiding apprentices, trade assistants and other workshop staff
- Checking completed work for quality, accuracy and compliance
- Identifying and resolving issues before they impact project timelines
- Working closely with management to ensure projects are completed on time
- Maintaining a safe, clean and organised workshop environment

The Candidate

We are looking for someone who has:

- Minimum 5 years' experience in switchboard building or a similar electrical workshop environment
- Strong practical knowledge of switchboard assembly, busbar fabrication and wiring
- The ability to read and interpret electrical drawings
- A strong eye for detail and quality workmanship
- Good communication and organisational skills
- The confidence to guide and support other team members
- A hands-on approach and willingness to remain on the tools

Previous Leading Hand or Supervisory experience will be highly regarded; however it is not essential. This is a great opportunity for an experienced Switchboard Electrician who is ready to take the next step in their career.
