About the role
Hope and Proud Pty Ltd is seeking a Finance Officer to join our team in Deakin, Canberra on a part-time basis, approximately 15–20 hours per week.
The Finance Officer will support the day-to-day financial administration of our NDIS and aged care services. The role will have a particular focus on NDIS Plan Management, service claiming, invoicing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payment monitoring, reconciliation and financial record keeping.
You will work closely with and report to the Finance Manager. As our aged care services continue to develop, the role will also support aged care claiming, invoicing and related finance administration.
Key responsibilities
- Process NDIS Plan Management invoices and claims.
- Review provider invoices and supporting information before processing.
- Submit NDIS claims and monitor rejected or outstanding claims.
- Prepare and issue invoices for NDIS, aged care and other services.
- Send invoices to external Plan Managers and other relevant funding organisations.
- Monitor incoming payments and follow up outstanding invoices.
- Process accounts payable and provider payments in accordance with company procedures.
- Assist with accounts receivable and payment reconciliation.
- Prepare and issue monthly statements for NDIS Plan Management participants and other relevant clients where required.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
- Investigate payment, invoice and claiming discrepancies.
- Assist with aged care invoicing and claiming.
- Respond to finance-related enquiries from participants, clients, providers and other stakeholders.
- Maintain appropriate records for compliance, application and auditing purposes.
- Work closely with the Finance Manager and other internal teams.
What we're looking for
- A qualification in bookkeeping, accounting, finance or a related field.
- Current membership with a recognised Australian bookkeeping or accounting professional association, such as ICB Australia, IPA, CPA Australia or CA ANZ.
- Experience in bookkeeping, accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing or finance administration.
- Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
- Good organisational and time-management skills.
- Ability to handle confidential financial information appropriately.
- Valuable communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with others.
- Experience using Xero, Microsoft Excel and other financial systems.
- Ability to work independently while following established procedures and financial controls.
Highly desirable
- Experience in NDIS Plan Management or NDIS claiming.
- Previous experience with an NDIS, aged care or community services provider.
- Knowledge of NDIS funding, pricing and claiming processes.
- Experience with aged care invoicing or funding systems.
- Mandarin language skills, particularly for communication with Mandarin-speaking participants, clients,
families and providers.
Pre-employment requirements
The successful candidate will be required to provide:
- A satisfactory National Police Check.
- A current NDIS Worker Screening Check, or willingness to obtain one.
- Evidence of valid working rights in Australia.
- A current Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) registration.
- Evidence of relevant qualifications and professional association membership.
