Murray Veterinary Services requires a seasonal stable hand to join the secure hand team. This position is initially casual from September 2026 to January 2027, working a rotating 4 days per week and one in 2 Sunday morning shifts. The position has the potential to become permanent part time from February 2027 onwards for the right candidate.
Key responsibilities
- Cleaning of stables and yards
- Moving of horses between yard, paddocks and hospital
- Feeding and watering of horses
- Keeping stables, barns and grounds presented to a very high standard at all times
- Holding horses for treatments and procedures
- Assisting veterinarians where required
- Managing the daily care of the embryo transfer herd
- Assisting vets with the breeding of mares and collection of stallions from August to January
About you
- Experience handling and working with horses
- Willing to complete tasks effectively and efficiently with minimal supervision
- Good observational and communication skills
- Able to work collaboratively within the team
