The Role
We’re looking for a technically savvy and strategically minded Technical Project Manager to take the lead on complex, multidisciplinary projects. In this role you’ll be a key connector – bridging technical depth with high-level project direction. You will lead cross-functional engineering teams (systems, electronics, mechanical, firmware, and software) and manage external stakeholders (clients and manufacturing partners) from concept through to production and ongoing support.
This role is for someone who thrives in dynamic environments, enjoys working at the intersection of technology and people and has the capacity to manage multiple concurrent projects.
You will be a key technical leader, providing guidance during design phases, driving product outcomes, continuous improvement, and supporting the business in adopting tools like AI to enhance both innovation and efficiency.
What you’ll be responsible for:
- Develop comprehensive project plans, milestones and allocate resources effectively.
- Drive project deliverables to ensure completion on time, within budget, and scope, implementing corrective actions.
- Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary in-house teams, providing both project and technical direction to ensure successful product outcomes.
- Proactively identify and mitigate project risks, ensuring proactive governance across concurrent projects.
- Maintain strong, positive, and productive relationships with clients, managing expectations and serving as a lead contact.
- Facilitate effective communication with clients regarding project progress, milestones, and key decisions.
- Understand client needs, translating into actionable briefs, and support activities like quotes, proposals and recent product scoping.
- Ensure compliance with relevant quality systems and frameworks, including ISO 13485.
Things that matter to us
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering field (Electronics, Software, Mechatronics, Mechanical, etc.).
- Proven experience as a Project Manager, specifically in electronics, mechanical, and industrial design projects. A background in managing medical device development projects is highly desired.
- A strong technical foundation – ideally 5+ years working on complex embedded systems (electronics, mechanical, firmware, and software).
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, preferably with prior consulting experience and the ability to navigate complex or high stakes interactions.
- A resilient, proactive mindset and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Deep knowledge of project management principles, methodologies, and tools, paired with a pragmatic, outcome-driven approach.
- A track record in successfully delivering multiple projects from concept through to manufacture, with leadership skills to guide and mentor multi-disciplinary teams.
Even better if you have
- Familiarity with ISO 13485 compliance and other quality management systems.
- Experience in a leadership role within a consulting environment (managing people, resources, estimates and budgets).
- Exposure to product development in the medical device or consumer electronic sectors.
What we offer
- A cooperative and inclusive work culture where your ideas and contributions matter
- Full time permanent opportunity
- Individual and team recognition programs
- Monthly team events and IntelliUpdates
- Free and confidential Employee Assistance Program
