As our business continues to grow, we are seeking an experienced and proactive Yard Supervisor to lead daily yard operations, drive inventory accuracy, and maintain a safe, efficient trade store environment at our Fyshwick site.

The Opportunity

We are looking for a hands-on Yard Supervisor to oversee our Fyshwick yard operations, manage site workflow, and lead our yard team and delivery support staff.

In this key operational role, you will be responsible for coordinating daily inward/outward goods, maintaining tight inventory control, and ensuring site deliveries are staged and dispatched on schedule. You will act as the operational link between our customer service desk, yard hands, and transport drivers, ensuring our builder members receive accurate, timely orders every time.

You will report to the Operations Manager and take ownership of workplace health and safety (WHS), quality control, and yard efficiency.

Key Responsibilities + Candidate Profile

Responsibilities

- Oversee daily yard operations, stock staging, loading, and unloading activities.

- Lead, mentor, and supervise yard hands and forklift operators to maintain high productivity and morale.

- Coordinate dispatch schedules and order picking with transport drivers to ensure on-time site deliveries.

- Manage stock control, receiving procedures,



timber grading/inspection, and stock count accuracy.

- Enforce strict Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) compliance, load restraint standards, and traffic management protocols.

- Maintain a clean, organised, and protected trade yard and warehouse environment.

- Resolve operational bottlenecks and address member or builder inquiries quickly and professionally.

Candidate Profile

- Proven leadership experience in a yard supervisor, warehouse leading hand, or logistics team leader role.

- Strong knowledge of building materials, timber, structural supplies, and trade hardware products.

- Valid High-Risk Forklift Licence (LF) with extensive operation experience.

- Strong understanding of WHS standards, chain of responsibility (CoR), and safe load restraint.

- Sound computer literacy and experience working with inventory management systems / ERPs.

- Strong communication, problem-solving, and organisation skills.

Highly Regarded

- Current Heavy Vehicle (MR/HR) licence or experience coordinating crane truck (HIAB) deliveries.

- High-Risk Order Picker (LO) or Vehicle Loading Crane (CV) licences.

- Experience within a co-op, timber yard, or trade merchant environment.
