The Former Origin Greats (FOGS) ARTIE Academy is seeking a motivated, highly organised and dependable Education Mentor to work with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students across South East Queensland high schools.

We are looking for a proactive self-starter who takes initiative, manages their time effectively and, most importantly, turns up every day ready to support their students.

The role involves mentoring students, delivering ARTIE Academy activities and working one-on-one with students to set achievable SMART goals focused on attendance, engagement, behaviour and academic achievement.

Education Mentors are also required to support the ARTIE Academy Driver Licensing Program (DLP) as volunteer drivers, helping eligible students gain supervised driving hours and progress towards their provisional licence.

Your main responsibilities will include:

- Mentoring Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander high school students

- Setting and monitoring SMART goals, particularly around school attendance and engagement

- Delivering ARTIE Academy activities, challenges and rewards

- Building strong relationships with students, school staff and community

- Acting as a volunteer driver within the DLP, providing supervised driving opportunities and supporting students towards learner and provisional licence milestones

- Managing responsibilities across multiple high schools

- Being a consistent,



reliable and positive presence for students

Key Attributes

- Strong reliability, punctuality and attendance record

- Passion for working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people

- Highly organised, proactive and able to work independently

- Robust communication and relationship-building skills

- Experience working in schools or education is preferred

- Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and communities

- Current Full Driver Licence held for a minimum of two (2) years

- Current Blue Card

- Willingness to complete required DLP training and compliance requirements

Consistent attendance is an essential requirement of this role. Our students need mentors they can trust, rely on and see regularly at school.

Remuneration

A package will be negotiated based on qualifications and experience. FOGS offers attractive annual leave arrangements of up to ten (10) weeks per year.
