George Gray Centre has been supporting people with disabilities in the Wellington Shire for almost 60 years. We run Day Services, Supported Employment, accommodation and respite programs across Maffra and Sale, working alongside more than 80 participants to help them build the lives they want.
We’re looking for a casual Disability Support Worker to join our Maffra and Sale teams. Hours are wide-ranging and rostered around participant needs, so this suits someone after flexibility who’s happy to pick up shifts as they come up.
What you’ll be doing:
Supporting participants with personal care and daily living activities
Helping participants take part in community events and stay connected to their community
Working alongside families, carers and other services involved in a participant’s life
Contributing to person-centred plans and keeping accurate records and case notes
Supporting participants to make their own choices and advocate for themselves
What you’ll need:
A commitment to supporting the goals, skills and choices of people with disabilities
The ability to build positive relationships with participants and respect their privacy
Valuable problem-solving and conflict management skills, and the ability to work well independently and as part of a team
NDIS Worker Screening Check and current Australian driver’s licence
First Aid and CPR certificates (or willingness to obtain)
A Certificate or Diploma relevant to disability support is desirable but not essential. We’ll support the right candidate to build these skills on the job.
Apply with your resume and a short cover letter telling us why you’d be a valuable fit
