The Shire of Capel has major ambitions for the growth of its existing townsites of Capel and Boyanup and for economic development through the delivery of a new agri-business precinct as well as enhancing its tourism offer.

We are seeking a Senior Development Planner with at least 3 years' experience in statutory and/or strategic planning to join our Development Services team. You will manage a range of complex development proposals, including Local Structure Plans, subdivisions and major development applications, in order to achieve outstanding outcomes for our Shire, and share your expertise and enthusiasm to help develop our team’s capabilities.

You will also develop innovative strategies and policies to help deliver strategic projects:




Review of the Shire’s Local Heritage Survey
Administering, and review of, the Shire’s Developer Contribution Plan
Strategic involvement in the Shire’s Integrated Growth Framework and Place Planning
Assessment of complex development applications, including Joint Development Assessment Panel items
