About the role

Southern Cross Repairs' is seeking a skilled semi-trailer mechanic to join our team in Dry Creek, South Australia. This is a full time role where you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing customers fleets of semi-trailers, ensuring they are in peak working condition.

What you'll be doing
Carry out scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and repairs on semi-trailers
Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical and structural issues
Perform repairs and replacements of components such as brakes, suspensions, axles and lighting systems
Maintain accurate records of work completed and parts used
Assist with the implementation of preventative maintenance programs
Ensure all work is completed to a high standard and in compliance with safety regulations

What we're looking for
Formal qualification in automotive mechanics or heavy vehicle maintenance
Minimum 2 years' experience as a semi-trailer or heavy vehicle mechanic or a trade assistant
Strong mechanical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality work




Good time management and organizational skills
Familiarity with heavy vehicle maintenance software and diagnostic tools
