Senior Tax Accountant – Temporary (6 Months) North Ryde | Hybrid Working Competitive Daily Rate | Immediate Start Parental Leave Cover

Hays is partnering with a large, complex organisation to recruit an experienced Senior Tax Accountant for an immediate-start temporary ongoing role to cover for parental leave. This role sits within a well-established Tax function supporting multiple entities across Australia, Recent Zealand, and the Pacific Islands.

Reporting into the Head of Tax, you will play a critical role in delivering tax compliance, tax accounting, and advisory support, while contributing to tax projects, process improvements, and governance initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
Preparation of monthly tax effect accounting and tax reporting for selected entities
Coordination of Australian consolidated income tax returns, including specific tax areas such as transfer pricing
Liaison with external advisers and auditors on compliance and reporting matters
Proactive management of tax payments, including PAYG and withholding tax
Preparation and/or review of FBT returns (AU/NZ)
Preparation and/or review of monthly GST returns (AU/NZ)
Analysis of tax impacts arising from acquisitions, including follow-up tax lodgements




Act as main tax system user/administrator for platforms such as OneSource, Microsoft Forms (FBT), ATO Online for Business, and IRD portals
Support tax-related projects and ad-hoc requirements as they arise
Assisting with development and implementation of tax policies, procedures, and systems

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:
8+ years' corporate tax experience within an in-house tax team or corporate accounting setting
CPA or CA qualification
Strong technical knowledge across Income Tax, Transfer Pricing, GST, FBT, Payroll Tax, and Tax Effect Accounting
Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
Experience working with SAP or similar ERP systems
Exposure to tax software such as OneSource and CCH Integrator (highly regarded)
Excellent time management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing deadlines independently
