Role Description This part-time Graduate Software Engineer role is a hybrid position based in Sydney, NSW, with a mix of on-site work and some work-from-home flexibility.
The Graduate Software
Engineer will assist in designing, implementing, and testing software components for VR/AR training simulations and related tools. Day-to-day tasks include writing and reviewing code, debugging and optimizing performance, collaborating with senior engineers and designers, and contributing to feature development for XR applications. The role also involves participating in code reviews, documenting technical solutions, and learning best practices in software engineering and game development workflows.
Qualifications
Solid foundation in Computer Science, including algorithms, data structures, and software design principles.
Proficiency in Programming and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) for building and maintaining software systems.
Basic experience or coursework in Software Development and Back-End Web Development, including APIs and integration.
Familiarity with game engines or XR development tools (e.g., Unity, Unreal, or similar) is beneficial.
Ability to learn new technologies quickly and apply feedback in a collaborative workplace.
Good problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.
Bachelor’s degree (completed or in progress) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
Interest in VR/AR, simulation-based training, and user-centered design is a robust plus.
