Wyanga Aboriginal Aged Care is an Aboriginal community-controlled organisation supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Elders to remain connected to culture, community, family and Country while receiving high-quality, culturally protected aged care.

We are seeking a highly organised and people-focused People & Culture Officer to join our Head Office team. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, this hands-on role supports recruitment, onboarding, employee engagement, workforce compliance, training, HR systems and day-to-day people and culture operations.

Key Responsibilities
Coordinate recruitment, interviews, reference checks and pre-employment requirements.
Prepare contracts, variations, probation correspondence and HR documentation.
Coordinate onboarding, induction and mandatory compliance requirements.
Maintain accurate employee records in Employment Hero or similar HRIS platforms.
Monitor probation, training, licences, qualifications and workforce screening.
Support managers with attendance, performance, employee relations and early intervention processes.
Coordinate staff engagement,

learning and development, surveys and recognition initiatives.
Assist with workforce reporting, HR audits, payroll changes and continuous improvement.

About You

You will bring experience in HR, people and culture, recruitment or workforce administration, with solid organisational, communication and record-management skills. You will be confident handling confidential information, using HR systems, managing competing priorities and knowing when to escalate sensitive matters.

Experience in aged care, community services, Aboriginal community-controlled organisations, Employment Hero, workplace relations, WHS and workforce compliance will be highly regarded.

Aboriginality is a genuine occupational requirement for this position under section 14(d) of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977 (NSW). Where a suitable Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander candidate cannot be identified, Wyanga may consider non-Indigenous applicants with solid cultural capability.

A satisfactory National Police Check and right to work in Australia are required.

To apply, submit your resume and a short cover letter outlining your relevant experience and interest in joining Wyanga.
